J Sports renews long-standing WWE ties
J Sports, the pay-television broadcaster in Japan, has extended its long-running rights deal with USA's World Wrestling Entertainment.
The renewal takes the partnership into its 22nd year.
J Sports will continue to broadcast WWE's flagship shows, Raw and SmackDown, live.
The J Sports 4 channel will air Raw on Tuesdays, beginning on 1 January, and SmackDown on Wednesdays, both live at 10 am (JST).
In addition, J Sports 3 will air a one-hour version of Raw starting on 7 January, at 10 pm on Mondays and a one-hour version of SmackDown at 10 pm on Tuesdays.
WWE's monthly specials including WrestleMania, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam will be available on request.
Earlier this month, WWE extended its broadcast deal in New Zealand with pay-television's Sky Network Television to a 19th year.
