Morisawa is latest Tokyo 2020 domestic partner as flood continues
The flood of Japanese companies signing up to become domestic sponsors of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games shows no sign of abating, with Morisawa, the software and digital font company the latest to join as a third-tier official supporter.
Morisawa joins in the category ‘font design and development services’, one of 12 official supporters of the games. The partnership line-up also comprises 15 gold partners, and 30 official partners.
Yoshiro Mori, Tokyo 2020’s president (pictured), said: “We are delighted to welcome Morisawa Inc. as an official supporter in the category of Font Design & Development Services. Meanwhile, Tokyo 2020 announced at the end of last month that Toyota, the Japanese car giant that is a top-tier ‘TOP’ partner of the Olympic Games, is to be a presenting sponsor of the torch relay that will precede the games.
Under the three-tier torch relay partnership programme, presenting partners - the highest tier - are permitted to recruit torchbearers and conduct promotional activities using the Olympic torch relay emblem.
Toyota follows Coca-Cola, the US soft drink giant, in signing up as a presenting sponsor of the relay.
