All-Argentinian Copa Libertadores final gets UK airing on FreeSports

UK soccer fans will be able to watch the upcoming final of the Copa Libertadores, South America’s top clubs competition, between Argentinian rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate for free after the rights were picked up by the FreeSports channel.
The first leg of the highly-anticipated clash will be shown live at 8pm on Saturday, with the second leg to follow, at the same time, on 24 November.
FreeSports is the sister network of pay-TV channel Premier Sports and available for free on the Sky, Virgin Media, Freeview and Freesat platforms.
It is the first time that Buenos Aires giants River and Boca, which contest the Superclásico, one of the most intense derbies in world soccer, have met in the Libertadores final, and indeed the first time that there has been an all-Argentinian climax.
Until now, there has not been any live TV coverage of the 2018 tournament in the UK, but FreeSports did show selected matches from the Copa do Brasil, the Brazilian knockout competition.
FreeSports also offer live games from Portugal’s top-tier Primeria Liga, plus rugby union and ice hockey, among a variety of content.
Premier Sports has shown the Copa Libertadores in previous seasons.
