Premier League trio boost sponsorship coffers
Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have all strengthened their commercial portfolios ahead of the 2018-19 Premier League season, which gets under way this evening.
Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, have struck a new global multi-year partnership with consumer products giant Unilever, while Chelsea have renewed their deal with the same company.
Unilever's Rexona brand, which operates as Sure in the UK and Degree in USA, becomes the official personal care partner of Manchester City and its sister club New York City FC.
Through this partnership, Rexona, Sure and Degree will launch special City-branded anti-perspirant products and branding will appear across the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea first joined forces with Unilever in January 2017, and Rexona now becomes the club's global personal care partner. In partnership with Rexona in Africa, Chelsea have created a grassroots soccer programme.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have signed a three-year deal with Banque du Caire, the Egyptian bank.
Banque du Caire will issue co-branded Arsenal credit and debit cards in Egypt, while customers and Arsenal fans in Egypt will be offered a range of club-related benefits including match-day hospitality to see the team in action at Emirates Stadium.
Banque du Caire will also have access to first-team players and club legends to generate content and develop marketing campaigns.
Arsenal claim to have more than 2.5 million followers on Facebook in Egypt, with much of that support down to the fact they boast Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny (pictured) in their squad.
