Now Hyundai gets on sleeves of Atlético Madrid
Hyundai, the Korean car manufacturer, has concluded a second sleeve sponsorship deal with a leading European soccer club this week in teaming up with Spain’s Atlético Madrid.
Under the new agreement announced today, Hyundai becomes the global automotive partner of Atlético, and will receive branding on the team’s shirts in all domestic competitions through to the end of the 2020-21 season.
The tie-up comes on the back of a four-year, sleeve sponsorship deal with English club Chelsea, which was confirmed on Monday.
The partnership with Atlético, runners-up in LaLiga and the winners of the Europa League in the 2017-18 season, entails the provision of a fleet of Hyundai cars to the club, a presence at all home games, including LED perimeter branding, and various media and digital content rights.
The company will also work with Atlético on various fan-friendly initiatives and benefits.
Elsewhere, Hyundai is a sponsor of prominent French club Olympique Lyonnais and will enjoy significant exposure at the Fifa World Cup in Russia starting tomorrow as Hyundai-Kia is a top-tier ‘Fifa Partner’ in an association dating back to 1999.
Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, vice-president marketing and product at Hyundai Motor Europe, said: “We are incredibly excited to begin a new partnership with Atlético de Madrid – a hugely successful club with a passionate fanbase that matches the global scale and challenging spirit of Hyundai.
“It will be a privilege to work with the club to develop activities that place their fans at the heart of our engagement, just as we place our customers at the centre of all our programmes.”
