Now Lagardère takes Edmund matches to Facebook
Kyle Edmund, currently the number one men's tennis player in Great Britain, is the latest individual to have his matches streamed on Facebook, the social media platform.
Edmund’s forthcoming matches from the Grand Prix of Hassan II, the ATP 250 event, in Marrakesh in Morocco will be streamed on the platform as part of a tie-up between Edmund’s sponsor British Airways, his management company StarWing Sports, and Lagardère Sports, the international sports marketing agency that is the official distributor of broadcasting rights for the tournament.
Matches will be available to users in the UK via Edmund’s official Facebook page.
The Grand Prix of Hassan II gets under way today and runs until 15 April.
Nikolaus von Doetinchem, executive vice-president global media at Lagardère Sports, added: “The commitment of Kyle and British Airways showcases that we are on the right track transforming the sport into the digital world to the young audience in the UK and create a new user experience allowing the fans to directly exchange and communicate amongst each other.”
Other ATP players whose matches have been streamed on Facebook include Belgium's David Goffin and Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka.
