Two Circles takes on data role for 2019 Cricket World Cup
Two Circles, the UK-based, data-driven agency that is part of WPP’s ESP Properties, has been appointed by the organiser of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup as the data and insight partner of the forthcoming event in England and Wales.
Through the agreement, Two Circles is to help the organising committee utilise its data to increase ticket sales and deliver match day experiences and fan-led marketing campaigns.
In addition, Two Circles has said it will use its data-driven analysis to support the England and Wales Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council’s “legacy ambitions”.
Steve Elworthy, managing director of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, said: “A central objective from the beginning was to host three world-class events across England and Wales with a legacy of broadening cricket’s appeal This year’s ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup set new benchmarks, but the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019 can deliver the world’s greatest cricket celebration ever and take interest in the game to a new level.”
Elworthy was previously been tournament director for three different ICC events: the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and the ICC World T20 tournament in 2009, which were both staged in England and Wales.
In recent months, Two Circles has added various sports properties to its portfolio of data clients, which includes the All England Lawn Tennis Club, organiser of the Wimbledon championships, and EPCR, the organiser of European rugby union’s top clubs competitions.
The ICC Cricket World Cup will be staged at 12 different venues across England and Wales from 30 May to 15 July 2019.
