IWGA appoints Riediger to head IF and games services
The International World Games Association has appointed Sebastian Riediger as head of its international federation and games services.
Riediger will support the IWGA general manager and member federations and will also work for possible inclusion of disabled athletes in future editions of the World Games, the quadrennial multi-sports games featuring non-Olympic sports.
Riediger previously worked for several sports organisations, including World Games sports, and is a junior ambassador at the DOSB, the German Olympic Sports Federation.
Joachim Gossow, the IWGA’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sebastian in our team. He already has a lot of experience of working with the international federations, which will help him in covering the needs of services that our federations have. Further, he will be working on the future sports programmes and he’ll be looking into the different needs the future host cities may have.”
The next edition of the World Games is due to take place in Birmingham in Alabama, USA in 2021.
