Qantas adds shirt sponsorship to long-running Cricket Australia deal
Qantas, the Australian airline, will become the first brand to sponsor the shirts of all three of the country’s international cricket teams after the company struck a new commercial deal with Cricket Australia.
Qantas, which is a long-time sponsor of CA, has acquired branding rights across the shirts of the men's test match, one-day international and Twenty20 international teams.
As part of the deal, the airline will feature on Australia’s shirts in the forthcoming Ashes test series against England this winter.
Cricket Australia recently introduced the comprehensive shirt sponsorship category as part of changes to its commercial structure.
Qantas has sponsored Australian cricket for the last seven years. Its deals include naming rights to all the senior men’s teams’ overseas tours and acting as the official airline of CA.
Earlier this week, CA signed up MasterCard, the international credit card company, as its official payment provider in a three-year deal.
