OVO Energy lends its name to Tour of Britain and Women's Tour
OVO Energy, the UK-based energy supply company, has been unveiled as the new title sponsor of cycling's Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour.
Under the deal, OVO Energy has acquired the naming rights to the 2017 Tour of Britain, the men’s event which is part of the UCI’s Continental Circuits series, and the 2017 Women’s Tour, which is part of the UCI’s Women’s World Tour, and it will also sponsor this year's amateur Tour Ride event.
OVO Energy is replacing Aviva, the insurance company, which has been the title sponsor of the Tour of Britain and Women's Tour for the last two years.
Chris Houghton, managing director of OVO Energy, said: "Our partnership with the Tours began last year in Bristol and we're thrilled to have expanded our involvement to become the title sponsor of the Women's Tour and Tour of Britain, helping to enable a 'free-to-view' sporting event to be brought to more fans across the country.”
The 2017 Women’s Tour will begin in Northamptonshire on 7 June and finish in London four days later.
The Tour of Britain takers place from 3 to 10 September.
