US Winter Olympian Toby Dawson Appointed Honorary Ambassador for 2014 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games Bid
His role will help to raise the international profile of the PyeongChang bid and increase awareness of its world class facilities within the winter sports community.
Toby Dawson said: ”I am delighted to become an honorary ambassador for the 2014 PyeongChang Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games bid. This represents a fantastic opportunity to expand winter sports and bring the Olympic Movement to Asia. I look forward to promoting PyeongChang as a city highly capable of hosting an outstanding Olympic Winter Games, which would be a wonderful experience for athletes and spectators alike.”
Han Seung-Soo, Chairman of the PyeongChang 2014 Bid Committee said: ”We are proud that Toby has accepted this role as honorary ambassador. As a successful athlete he can inspire young people around the world to take part in winter sport.”
The PyeongChang Bid Committee has appointed 52 international and local celebrities as honorary ambassadors, including world-famous golfer Michelle Wie, who Time magazine selected as one of 100 most influential people in the world.
