US Soccer Team Gets Live Webcast Coverage

Soccer - 12 Jul 2000

The United States national team begins World Cup qualifying with a crucial opening match against Guatemala on July 16 in Mazatenango, Guatemala, and internetsoccer.com will be on hand to provide the live Internet audio broadcast of all the action.

Seasoned radio announcer Frank Hanrahan and former US Soccer officer Richard Groff will call all the action directly from Estadio Carlos Salazar in Mazatenango beginning 15 minutes before the one p.m. (ET) kickoff Sunday, as Bruce Arena’s U.S. team begins its quest to qualify for the 2002 FIFA World Cup to be hosted jointly by Japan and South Korea.

Listeners can interact with the broadcasters by sending emails to broadcast@internetsoccer.com, and if the announcers read the question on the air, the listener will receive an internetsoccer.com T-shirt.

internetsoccer.com’s coverage of the match will begin a day early with a one-hour Internet radio show on Saturday, July 15 at 6:00pm ET, live from Mazatenango. The show will feature interviews with players and coaches, as well as analysis of the two teams facing off on Sunday.
