Hull face the possibilty of expulsion from future Challenge Cup competitions after serious crowd trouble by a minority of Hull fans, marred what was otherwise an enthralling semi-final. Leeds progressed to the final, where they will face Bradford, beating Hull 28-22. Police were forced to use riot shields and horses to disperse a pitch invasion by hundreds of Hull fans, who ventured to the Leeds end, goaded the Leeds fans and ripped down a set of posts. Arrests of drunken fans were still taking place an hour after the end of the match.
