SPAR European Cross Country Championships Set for Extensive Live Coverage Across Continent
Twelve countries across Europe will broadcast action from the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Albufeira, Portugal, on Sunday.
According to current broadcast intentions received by European Athletics, national broadcasters in Belgium, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Turkey will show live coverage of the 17th edition of the event.
There will be at least 22 hours of live television coverage of the premier cross country championships in 2010.
National broadcasters in Finland, Russia and Sweden will show delayed coverage. In addition, pan-European channel Eurosport plans to broadcast a summary of the championships across its 59 territories the Monday morning after the event.
Outside Europe, the event will be broadcast by the Dubai Sports Channel.
The total number of hours of intended coverage may increase once the broadcast intentions of any remaining rights-holders are received.
A joint-record 515 athletes from 33 countries are entered for this year's event in Albufeira, which comprises six races during Sunday.
The event is supported by European Athletics’ long-standing international partners SPAR, OMEGA, EPSON, LE GRUYÈRE and EUROVISION, along with a number of national partners and suppliers.
