The Louis Vuitton Pacific Sailing Series, 2009’s premier sailing event, which gets under way on Friday, January 30 in Auckland, New Zealand, is making waves among broadcasters worldwide, with over 100 ready to show news and highlights packages.

The inaugural friendly match race regatta involving ten world-class sailing teams including Alinghi, current holder of the America’s Cup, the USA’s BMW Oracle Racing, the British TEAMORIGIN, France’s K-Challenge, has caught the interest of broadcasters such as CNN, Eurosport Asia, ESPN and FOX Sports, Canal+ France, SSR, NTV, ERT, TRT, BSkyB, RAI, Sailing Channel, WCSN, CCTV, Abu Dhabi Sports, StarHub Singapore, etc.

The Louis Vuitton Pacific Series opens with two round-robin stages, for which the teams will be seeded into two pools. Each team will take part in one or two head-to-head races per day.

The round-robins will be followed by a Challengers Final on February 11 and 12 and a ‘sail off’ for the second final spot, while the event will culminate in the seven-race Louis Vuitton Pacific Cup which will see the host team New Zealand battle against the winner of the Challengers final.

TVNZ is the official host broadcaster for the event and will cover all the races.

Dominique Curchod Communications, official worldwide rights holder for the event, is offering a daily free access 2mins 30 second news bulletin throughout the event to all agencies and broadcasters, via the Eurovision World feed.

A daily highlights package will also be available, along with B-roll footage of the participating teams, interviews and the press conference, with a possible extension for unilateral coverage or multilateral feeds. The technical costs are set at €500 for the round robin events and €750 for the Challengers Finals and Louis Vuitton Pacific Cup.

Eurovision, the largest TV union which is partnering LVPS, is offering the programming, which will be available on the Eurovision satellite network, to all its members in Europe, North Africa, Middle-East and Central Asia

Dominique Curchod Communications is still inviting other potential broadcasters to register their interest. For further information visit www.curchod.com/programmes or contact:
