IEC Continues its Beach Volleyball Domination With New AVP Deal
As a company which has taken broadcasting of Beach Volleyball to unparalleled levels globally, it will come as no surprise to the international sports marketplace to learn of IEC’s recent signature of the prestigious Crocs (sponsor) AVP Tour Beach Volleyball series until the end of the 2011 season.
This new arrangement sees IEC take charge of distributing the world’s most high profile and concentrated Beach Volleyball Tour, involving the most popular stars of one of The Olympic Games’ most attractive and widely exposed sports and disciplines.
Both Men’s and Women’s World Champions & Olympic Gold Medallists (Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser – Men; Kerry Walsh and Misty May – Women) play regularly on the Crocs AVP Tour making it by far the most important gathering of Beach Volleyball in the world.
“We felt it only natural to try to impart the massive commercial experience and knowledge we have of Beach Volleyball on the Crocs AVP Tour” said Nick Haigh, Director of Television Properties for IEC in Sports. “The success of Crocs AVP Tour are a testament to Leonard’s vision and dynamism and we are thrilled to be able to play a part in the obvious continued success of the sport and its most important series” continued Haigh, commenting on AVP Tour Commissioner, Leonard Armato, and his organization’s tireless work for and development of the sport of Beach Volleyball in US and overseas.
“Nick and his team bring an unrivalled expertise in the field of commercial television distribution and exploitation”, commented Armato. “We are entering a vital stage in the development of our Tour and Sport and a partnership with an agency of the reputation and notoriety of IEC was paramount to our future growth” added Armato.
IEC will also handle the distribution to the innovative new “Hot Winter Nights” Events, a series of tournaments taking place during January and February and bringing together Beach Volleyball during the colder parts of the year in a “tropical” indoor climate despite the inclement outdoor elements.
