Glamorgan CCC bowled over by TALENT

LEATHERHEAD, UK - 4 May 2000 - As the new cricket season gets underway, Computer Software Limited announced today that Glamorgan CCC is to become the first County Cricket ground to install the TALENT venue and event management software solution. Glamorgan County Cricket Club is located at the recently developed Sophia Gardens, in Cardiff, an impressive complex, with modern conference facilities, retail outlet and first class indoor training facilities. Initially, Glamorgan is installing the ticketing component of TALENT but will be considering system expansion in the future. "Glamorgan CCC, after successfully staging World Cup cricket last season will host a further international game at Sophia Gardens in 2001 between Australia and Pakistan and recognised the need to have a sophisticated and flexible ticketing system in place to support this," explains Bill Hughes, CSL's Marketing Manager. "The corporate side of Glamorgan's business is also growing and this will generate complementary IT requirements in the near future. TALENT, of course, already has a proven track record in this field in Football at Premiership clubs such as Chelsea, Derby, and Bradford City." Although operating at a lower level of revenues than soccer, the cricket business continues to mature in the UK. Hughes believes that TALENT offers all ambitious clubs the ideal business management environment, regardless of size: "Glamorgan is our smallest ground to date with a current fixed capacity of 5,000 which proves that size is not the primary factor in selecting TALENT. Cricket clubs often have sophisticated membership structures, which TALENT is well suited to handle. There is also frequent use of temporary stands for big matches, and ticket office managers delight in the speed with which TALENT can reflect new seating plans. Glamorgan CCC first encountered TALENT when CSL provided the ticketing systems for the 1999 Cricket World Cup and took the opportunity to evaluate TALENT during the competition.
