Euroleague Unveils New Trophy
Barcelona, 25th October 2006. The new Euroleague Basketball season comes with a new trophy! Euroleague Basketball unveiled a new trophy for this year's champion before the opening game. The new trophy transmits the values of the competition: victory, drama and team spirit. It is bigger in size and stature than its predecessor, making it more representative for a champion. The trophy was designed by Proximma, one of the top communications agencies in the sports world, and was made by Laudo's, the same company which designed the ULEB Cup trophy and the medals at the 1992 Olympic Games. It is made of brass and covered in rhodium with bright details. The new trophy is shaped like a cup, stands 60cm high, with 13.7cm base. Its body represents a basketball, the best expression for our sport, while its upper part is shaped like the letter “V” for victory, representing that the winner has been crowned as the new Euroleague champion. The new trophy's modern and fashionable image goes hand-in-hand with Euroleague Basketball today.
