Euroleague Basketball Names New Communications Director
Haack holds degrees in both political science and English literature and language from Northeastern University (Boston, USA) and has focused her professional career in marketing and communications, among other positions as an account director at Bassat Ogivly and as a coordinator of international public relations in the communications department of the National Basketball Association (New York, USA).
Ferran Márquez, who until now was Communications Director, will continue to be maintain an involvement with Euroleague Basketball by assisting in the management of the Master in Sports Marketing and Communications, which he created and brought to fruition. Recently, Euroleague Basketball and Ca´Foscari University announced the creation of this master's program via Internet - http://www.masmacom.eu/ - whose objective is to give professionals in the sporting world both theoretical and practical knowledge that would allow them to direct a communications or marketing department at either a club or a professional league level.
With this new structure, based on the communications department concept that has been designed over the three years during which Ferran Márquez has been director, Euroleague Basketball's aim is to better respond to new needs within the communications market, whilst maintaining the attention and service to the media which since its founding have been basic objectives of the department. To this end, Haack will work in parallel with Frank Lawlor, Euroleague Basketball's Editorial Director, who is in charge of Euroleague.net and ULEBcup.com.
