Euroleague Basketball Announces First Marketing Awards Finalists
The Devotion Marketing Awards - Gold Devotion, Silver Devotion and Bronze Devotion - have been introduced this year as a platform by which to recognise the great and improving efforts that Euroleague Basketball teams are making in such an important area, as well as to foster opportunities for each of them to share its knowledge and initiatives with all the other participating teams. By this innovative initiative, Euroleague Basketball wants to reward those teams who have made extra big efforts throughout the season to promote the sport and communicate Euroleague excitement to the world basketball community.
"Basketball in Europe is growing fast every year and the number of devoted fans is increasing day by day, making the task of the marketing teams even more important, to keep this positive evolution and even to strengthen it," Pedro Galvan, Euroleague Basketball Marketing Director, said. "We realized the good work that teams have been doing over several years and the improvements they have made in marketing aspects such as club brand building, interaction with fans and cross-selling strategies. We considered that all those efforts should be recognised every year.This initiative has been a big success during its first edition," Galvan added. "The participation of Euroleague Basketball teams has been very positive in terms of quantity and quality, with all proposals having been based on four key aspects of marketing strategy: Spectators, Distribution, Product/Experience and Brand."
"The second objective of these Devotion Marketing Awards is to lead basketball marketing initiatives in Europe, moving the knowledge and the information through all European clubs, since all of us are on the same team and we have just one objective: to make basketball grow in Europe," Galvan said.
The Devotion Marketing Awards will be given during the Euroleague Basketball Draw, during the weekend of the ULEB Summer League, in Jesolo, Italy.
