Barcelona, February 14th, 2007. Euroleague Basketball has announced that Albania is the latest country where TV broadcasts of the competition will be seen, starting with Panathinaikos Athens vs. Efes Pilsen Istanbul this week. Albania brings to 129 the number of countries where Euroleague Basketball games are broadcast, a record in terms of television coverage for the competition. Albania is the seventh country that has joined the list this season. The others were: Bulgaria (Ring TV), Finland (Viasat Sport), Bosnia-Herzegovina (SportKLub and BHT 1), FYROM (Kanal 5), Montenegro (TVIN) and the Phillipines (Basketball TV). Every single Euroleague game of the season will be broadcast on TV. In Albania, the Premium 3 channel of the SuperSport package of DigitAlb will broadcast one game weekly during the Top 16 and the Quarterfinal Playoffs, as well as the 2007 Final Four.
"I am very happy to announce that starting this week fans in Albania will be able to watch Euroleague Basketball games on television through the Premium 3 channel on the DigitAlb platform," Andrea Bassani, Euroleague Basketball's Director of Television, said. "This shows the ever-improving number of countries covered, now at 129, and of broadcasters, now at 34, and the fact that we have been able to sign deals even when the season is up and running, as the recent cases of Finland and Montenegro showed, too."
