Danny Jordaan Set to Speak at International Sports Event Management Conference 2010
Danny Jordaan, CEO of the biggest, most anticipated sports event this year, the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, will be among fellow high profile sports industry leaders to address delegates at the International Sports Event Management 2010 Conference (ISEM) taking place at Twickenham Stadium, London on November 3 and 4.
After years of doubts over South Africa’s readiness and security, the 2010 World Cup has been viewed as a great triumph. Danny Jordaan, the face of the World Cup organisers, deserves huge credit for this and was integral to the success of this historic event.
Danny will present a post event debrief at ISEM 2010, sharing his views on the commercial and social benefits of the South African World Cup. Did the event live up to expectations? Has South Africa met its objectives to mobilise unity, solidarity and social development? What is the economic value for South Africa? Will the event achieve a long lasting legacy?
Danny Jordaan joins a star studded line up of speakers at ISEM 2010 including:
Gilbert Felli, Executive Director, International Olympic Committee
Paul Deighton, CEO, London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Bill Cooper, Director of Commercial Rights, Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games
Dmitry Chernyshenko, CEO, Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games
Jim O’Toole, CEO, World Match Racing Tour
Paul Vaughan, Business Operations Director, Rugby Football Union
Xavier Gonzalez, CEO, International Paralympic Committee
John Scott, CEO, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games
The two-day conference programme has been carefully constructed to deliver a combination of illuminating panel sessions and highly instructive case studies designed to create awareness of the challenges facing the sports event management industry and to suggest practical solutions.
This year's programme will include pre and post conference workshops, led by acknowledged industry experts, and will also host the 4th International Sports Event Management Awards.
Danny Jordaan will also be attending the Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner and is currently in the line up of the shortlisted entries for the Outstanding Contribution category. The Awards celebrate, honour and recognise outstanding achievement in major sports events. The shortlist can be seen on www.eventmanagementawards.com and the winners will be announced during the Ceremony at the prestigious Gala Dinner on 3rd November.
International Sports Event Management 2010 is the fifth conference in the series and the first to be organised under a partnership between founders Rushmans and Informa Sports Group, a division of one of the world’s biggest and most successful conference companies.
