Congress Decides on Important Changes for Karate

Many important changes were presented to 35 countries who were present in this congress. EKF President Mr. Espinos presented the timelines and the procedures of the campaign for karate to enter the Olympic games and asked from the
National Federations their support.

Turkmenistan is the new member of the EKF family.

Three new weight categories were approved for Female Kumite in the juniors & cadets EKF championships (-51kg, -57, +57).

For the first time the referees will elect the members of
their commission after the end of the championships.

Team events (Kate and Kumite) will now take place during the last day of the championships after a congress decision with 20 votes in favor and 14 against.

The G. Secretary Dr. Yerolimpos presented the final
broadcasting template for karate competition. Dr.
Yerolimpos also made a detailed presentation for the online
registration which is already working in EKF web site
(www.eurokarate.net) for future championships.
