BMW Extends Safety Car Agreement with MotoGP

Motor racing - 21 Jan 2004

BMW and Dorna Sports have agreed terms for a two-year extension of their current sponsorship contract. As such, BMW will continue to be the Official Safety Car for the MotoGP World Championship as part of a relationship that started back at the beginning of the 2000 season.

As well as supplying all the vehicles for this purpose to race direction, marshals and doctors, BMW cars will also be used for the VIP Village service and for the media photographic shuttles.

The Safety Car models for 2004 will be from the top of the German manufacturer's range, such as the new 6-series - which is to be launched this year - and the M3 CSL.

BMW will continue with their commitment to sponsoring the MotoGP Best Qualifier of the Year award, organising the BMW Boxer Cup as a support race to the MotoGP weekend at seven Grand Prix and having track-side advertising exposure.
