Vauxhall’s Andrew Curley to discuss major event sponsorship at Soccerex Global Convention

Soccer - 23 Aug 2016

Vauxhall’s Head of Sponsorship and Events, Andrew Curley, will be speaking at the Soccerex Global Convention, 26th-28th September, Manchester, about their lead sponsorship of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales national football teams and how they activated the different relationships around this summer’s UEFA European Championships.

Curley has over 20 years experience with Vauxhall in a variety of roles including Aftersales and Marketing and spent 3 years at the Opel/Vauxhall headquarters in Germany.

He now heads the strategic vision of the Vauxhall sponsorship and events programme, a role that has seen him gain vital knowledge into what makes a successful sponsorship and the foremost ways to maximise activation when showcasing your brand.

Vauxhall have sponsored all four Home Nations since 2011 and have integrated the brand into the football market where they are now a crucial component of the international calendar in the UK.

At the Global Convention, Curley will be sharing his experience from the European Championships campaign, his advice and insights on what it takes to mastermind sponsorship within events and how best to activate during tournaments.

With England, Wales and Northern Ireland qualifying for the 2016 Euros, this was a huge opportunity for Vauxhall to activate these relationships across three different agreements and countries across the same event.

Vauxhall launched their “#GetIN” digital campaign to work alongside the tournament, engaging and asking fans to showcase their best goal celebrations and will continue their #GetIN message across the World Cup qualifying campaign which begins again in September.

The Global Convention as a whole is designed to deliver unique business insight across a variety of key sectors and subject matters ranging from sponsorship and fan engagement to the technological innovations and stadium development.
