World Anti-Doping Agency to Allocate $5m Research Fund
The Executive Committee (EC) of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will hold its second meeting of the year on Friday, 1 June 2001, in Cape Town, South Africa.
The EC will discuss and take decisions on the following topics:
the allocation of WADA’s US$5 million research fund. (WADA has already reviewed the forty applications it received as a result of its call for research.);
the ongoing out-of-competition testing program, and the future implementation of blood testing;
the finalization of the WADA Strategic Plan, which will, in part, form the basis for the government’s funding contributions to WADA;
the process for the selection of WADA’s permanent site; and
the achievements and progress of the committees.
Previous to WADA’s meetings, the fourth meeting of the International Intergovernmental Consultative Group on Anti-Doping in Sport (IICGADS) will hold its meetings in the same location on 30 and 31 May 2001.

Meetings will be held at the BMW Pavilion. A Press Center providing all the necessary working facilities will be set up in the BMW Boardroom (second floor).
