Neoenergia to support Brazilian women's soccer team
The CBF, the Brazilian soccer federation, has unveiled Neoenergia, a subsidiary of Iberdrola, the Spanish energy company, as a sponsor of the women’s national team.
The four-year deal will see the brand support the Brazilian team at competitions including Olympic Games and Women's World Cups, and have a logo on the training kits.
Neoenergia will also receive naming rights for the national clubs competition, which will be renamed the Brasileirão Femenino Neoenergia.
This is the first time a Brazilian company has exclusively sponsored its women’s national team.
In addition, Neoenergia will receive brand visibility via the team's social media platforms, on the advertising hoardings at matches and in half-time activations.
Both parties aim to promote equal opportunities and encourage women to participate both socially and professionally in sport.
Rogerio Caboclo, president of the CBF, said: “This partnership with Neoenergia means having one of the largest energy companies in the country and the world on our side, which will combine support for women's football with causes such as equality and sustainability, leveraging the enormous social strength and commitment of our sport.”
Iberdrola is already prominent in women's soccer as the title sponsor of Spanish competitions including the top-tier Primera Division through a deal with the RFEF, the national federation.
