Stats Perform looks to service sports media with AI-powered PressBox
Stats Perform, the international sports and data technology provider, has today launched PressBox, an AI-powered online platform aimed at media, teams and leagues that combines analysis, graphics and video during live events.
The platform offers two media applications in PressBox Live, a real-time sports media dashboard that provides detailed player and team statistics, insights and new AI-powered metrics, and the new PressBox Video, which offers a large archive of sports clips dating back over 10 years and the tools necessary to locate the desired content.
PressBox is intended to speed up the production process for sports media and broadcasters working under pressure to deliver content for viewers from events, while also providing teams and leagues with insights to share with their fans.
In particular, Stats Perform claims that the platform, which also offers advanced metrics such as live win probability and expected goals, integrated live chat with research and editorial staff, graphics and visualisations, in-app, cloud-based video editing software, personalised video content preferences and multiple video file format, can help to drive fan engagement, tell groundbreaking narratives, drive more subscriptions and maximise advertising revenue.
Nancy Hensley, Stats Perform chief product and marketing officer, said on Tuesday: “Key narratives which might have taken researchers 10 crucial minutes to uncover are served in mere moments to PressBox users.
“PressBox is the destination for the best sports research and data-driven insights all under one intuitive platform.”
Last November, Stats Perform expanded its video production and AI capabilities with the acquisition of two fan engagement platforms of USA-based Thuuz Sports.
SmartReels, which enables the creation of automated highlights, and SmartRatings, which serves up customised alerts based on the excitement of particular moments, are being integrated into Stats Perform’s product portfolio for media, technology and betting customers.
Stats Perform was formed from the merger in 2019 of USA’s Stats and Europe-based Perform, and is endeavouring to meet the needs of clients through the combination of extensive sports data and the latest AI and machine learning technology.
