Mediapro, the Spanish media rights and production agency, will once again handle the host broadcast for South American soccer’s 2023 Copa Libertadores Femenina club competition after striking an agreement with the continental governing body Conmebol.
Under the agreement, Mediapro’s Colombia arm will be responsible for producing and broadcasting all 32 games during the tournament, totaling more than 1,800 hours of live content. The competition is currently being held in Bogota and Cali from October 5 to 21.
The agency’s Outside Broadcast units will deploy 11 to 21 high-definition cameras, depending on the stage of the match, including mini-, super-slow, and ultra-slow-motion cameras, significantly enhancing the quality of coverage compared with previous editions of the championship.
The competition will be aired by Pluto TV, the free streaming service owned by international media giant Paramount Global, across Brazil (PlutoTV Esportes) and the wider Latin America region (PlutoTV Deportes).
The FC Diez Media agency handles media and commercial rights for South America’s various club soccer competitions, through a deal running until 2026 struck with the Conmebol governing body for soccer.
This will be the second time Mediapro has acted as the host broadcaster of the Copa Libertadores Feminina after being appointed for the delayed 2020 edition played in Buenos Aires, Argentina from March 5 to 21, 2021.
