New Zealand news outlet Stuff and Sky New Zealand, the leading pay-TV broadcaster in the country, have once again struck a media partnership for the upcoming 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
Sky NZ holds domestic rights for the tournament and the partnership will see Stuff stream 12 matches live, including the opening match between New Zealand’s All Blacks and France, a semi-final, and the final.
In addition, the Stuff Rugby World Cup hub will feature tournament news, commentary from Stuff and Sky experts, highlights packages, quizzes, and lifestyle content. Stuff and Sky said they will also create advertising packages for brands that will appear on the hub.
Sky NZ, meanwhile, will broadcast all 48 matches live on its Sky Sport linear channel and Sky Sports Now streaming service.
The 2023 Rugby World Cup will feature 20 teams with 48 matches played across 51 days. The final is set to be played at Stade de France in Paris on October 28.
The agreement follows on from a similar partnership for the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup soccer tournament in which Stuff is streaming 26 matches live. That partnership also features tournament news, commentary from Stuff and Sky, and Stuff’s ‘interactive power rankings’ for assessing and forecasting team prospects.
