The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the alliance of public service broadcasters, has sold its media services arm, Eurovision Services, to Munich-based private equity firm Dubag Group.
Announcing the move earlier this week (February 7), Dubag Group said it had now closed the transaction with its exclusively managed Leo II fund.
Eurovision Services is a leading media services provider for rights holders, media organizations, and sports federations, offering solutions for the production, distribution, and personalization of content.
Major clients of the business have included motor racing’s Formula 1, North American basketball’s NBA, English soccer’s top-tier Premier League, European soccer governing body UEFA, motor cycling’s motocross promoter Infront Moto Racing, and the Super League Triathlon.
The acquisition adds to Dubag Group’s portfolio which also includes MMC Studios, the German broadcast production, television, and film studio company.
Emanuel Cattanei, partner at Dubag Group, said: “With the takeover of Eurovision Services, we extend our portfolio with a promising venture.
