The Texas Rangers, of North America’s Major League Baseball (MLB), have appointed international agency CSM Sport & Entertainment to secure its first jersey patch sponsor.
Under an exclusive agreement, CSM will work with the franchise to find a corporate partner for the team’s home and road jerseys.
From the 2023 season, which will begin at the end of March, MLB teams will be permitted to wear a sponsor logo patch on either the left or right sleeves of all jerseys.
The league finalized details of its new jersey patch program in April, a key part of its new five-year collective bargaining agreement with the MLB Players Association.
Jim Cochrane, Texas Rangers executive vice president of partnerships and client services, said: “We are delighted about entering into this agreement with CSM. Securing the most appropriate jersey patch partner is a priority for us, and we believe that CSM’s experience and expertise makes it the right company to achieve this goal.”
Ross Meltzer president of properties for CSM North America, added: “The vision and expectations that the ownership group has for the team, in parallel with the multi-faceted growth plan, makes this team unparalleled in the marketplace.
