Ziggo Sport, the Dutch pay-television network owned by joint venture telecoms operator VodafoneZiggo, has bolstered its golfing portfolio with broadcast rights to the US’ PGA Tour and the DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour).
Through acquisitions announced today (January 10), Ziggo will show all tournaments of both tours live and exclusively in the Netherlands.
The broadcaster’s three-year deal for the DP World Tour includes the Dutch Open, which runs from May 25 to 28.
Notably, Ziggo will also show the 2023 edition of the Ryder Cup, the biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the US, which will be staged in Italy for the first time (from September 29 to October 1).
In addition, Ziggo has confirmed that it will show all four majors this year. The Masters will run from April 6 to 9 at Augusta, Georgia; the PGA Championship from May 18 to 21 at Rochester, New York; the US Open from June 15 to 18 at Los Angeles, California; and the Open Championship from July 20 to 23 at Hoylake, UK.
The new deals firm up Ziggo’s golfing portfolio, with the broadcaster also holding rights to the Asian Tour and the LPGA Tour.

By GlobalDataMarcel Beerthuizen, managing director of Ziggo Sport: “Golf is an important sport in Ziggo Sport's portfolio, for which we have even created our own channel: Ziggo Sport Golf. I am happy that we will be able to offer golf enthusiasts the best players and the most beautiful tournaments in the world.
“The highlight is the Ryder Cup that will be played in Rome this year. We pay a lot of attention to Dutch players, including during the Dutch Open. We also work with the Dutch Golf Federation to promote the sport.”
