The Professional Fighters League (PFL), the US-based mixed martial arts (MMA) series, has appointed Julia Boyadjieva as vice president of international event operations.

She will also serve as general manager of PFL Europe, the new regional league recently launched under a joint venture with international subscription sports streaming service DAZN.

Boyadjieva has more than 18 years of experience planning and executing high-profile sports and entertainment events. She joins PFL from top motor racing series Formula 1 where she served as head of promoter relations.

Previously, Boyadjieva spent nine years at the WWE wrestling promotion as senior director of live events international where she was responsible for managing the company’s portfolio of events spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.

PFL Europe is due to launch in 2023 as part of the series’ ongoing expansion.
