Gravity Media, the UK-based provider of live broadcast facilities and production services, has expanded its deal with the Cricket Australia (CA) governing body.
Through a renewal announced yesterday (October 26), Gravity has said it will deliver “in excess of 350 hours of coverage” from a range of competitions and one-off fixtures over the Australian summer.
The tie-up entails Gravity working closely with CA and with domestic broadcast partners Fox Sports and Kayo.
The partnership will cover 22 games from the List A Marsh Cup tournament, 35 fixtures from the Women’s Big Bash League Twenty20 competition, the final of the Sheffield Shield, and various other one-off events.
The initial deal between the two bodies was struck in 2017.
Dan Allen, Cricket Australia’s broadcast content manager, said: “Cricket’s standing as Australia’s favorite sport owes a lot to the knowledge and dedication Gravity have demonstrated throughout, and we look forward to continuing our partnership into the future.”

By GlobalDataNigel Naseby, business development manager at Gravity Media Australia, added: “All of us value our close working partnership with CA. It is a significant technological and production crew commitment for Gravity Media this summer. Working closely with CA, we will continue to evolve and develop our all-screen coverage including the introduction of new broadcast technologies designed to deliver CA and its broadcast partners a seamless and compelling coverage of cricket across the coming months.”
Last week, CA confirmed that its major commercial deal with principal partner Alinta Emergy will end in June 2023.
Alinta, the national electricity and natural gas supplier, became the shirt sponsor of Australia’s men’s national cricket teams in May 2018 through a four-year deal.
While the agreement has been extended into next year, it only covers one more Australian summer, a much shorter deal than the first contract.
