The Mutua Madrid Open tennis tournament will continue to be title sponsored by insurance firm Mutua Madrilena until the end of the 2027 edition.
Through a deal struck between Mutua and the event’s organizers Madrid Trophy Promotion (MTP), both the men’s (ATP) and women’s (WTA) sides of the annual tournament will continue to have Mutua as a title sponsor for the next five iterations.
The agreement was sealed and the contracts were signed by Ignacio Garralda, president of Mutua Madrilena, and by MTP’s chief executive Gerard Tsobianian.
Mutua first put its name to the event, which has been held in Madrid since 2002, in 2006. In April, it finalized a short-term deal extending its naming rights deal for the event’s 2022 edition.
IMG, the international sport and entertainment firm, took over MTP in April this year, while in September 2021 an agreement was struck between MTP and the Madrid civic authorities for the tournament to stay in the Spanish capital until 2030.
The 2022 Mutua Madrid Open took place between April 28 and May 8.
