The International Cricket Council, the game’s global governing body, has secured a naming rights partner in Dream11, as well as an exclusive broadcaster across the Indian subcontinent in FanCode (owned by the same holding company as Dream11), for all second-tier national team events and qualifying tournaments until 2023.
Dream11, the Indian fantasy sports company, has become the naming rights sponsor of all ‘pathway’ ICC tournaments until April 2023, while digital sports platform FanCode will have exclusive streaming rights in India and surrounding countries to the same events, which include the second-tier qualifying tournaments for all World Cups, on its digital and mobile platforms.
FanCode, which secured these rights (spanning 540 matches in total) through a deal with IMG Arena, the betting arm of the international sports and entertainment giant and a partner of the ICC from early this year, will hold them for the next two years across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives and Afghanistan.
In every other country, ICC.tv, the governing body’s own in-house streaming service – supported by Endeavor Streaming through a deal struck in February this year – will provide coverage of the pathway events. The FanCode arrangement has been carved out of this deal.
These events include qualifying campaigns for the following tournaments: the men’s T20 World Cup 2022, the men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and the women’s T20 World Cup 2023.
Dream11, meanwhile, will put its name to the same matches and tournaments, in a deal also running until April 2023.
