Discovery Sports Events, the promotional arm of the US media giant, has unveiled free-to-air and streaming broadcast plans across its platforms for motorcycling’s FIM Speedway World Championship in Denmark ahead of the 2022 season.
Coverage of every race will be provided free-to-air by pay-TV channel 6’eren and will also be shown on the Discovery+ over-the-top streaming platform.
Discovery’s pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport will show all the action from every round of the Speedway GP season and the FIM Speedway of Nations in 2022 for both live and on-demand viewing, on its linear TV channels.
Vojens in Denmark will host round nine of the Speedway GP on September 10 and there will be a particular home interest with Danish riders Leon Madsen, Anders Thomsen, and Mikkel Michelsen involved.
Discovery will provide localized on-site studio coverage for the race in Vojens, while studio shows will also be offered for fans watching via Discovery’s channels and platforms in Denmark at additional selected key races throughout the season.
Last week (March 30), Discovery Sports Events announced the Speedway GP will be shown in Poland on free-to-air channel TTV and the Eurosport Player streaming service.

Discovery Sports Events is the global promoter of the FIM speedway events under a contract until 2031 after replacing international sports marketing agency IMG.
Last October, motorcycling’s governing body FIM and Discovery Sports Events unveiled details of new event formats and a new SGP-branded pyramid structure beginning this year.
All speedway categories will be unified under the new SGP brand from the Grand Prix itself down to SGP4.
The decade-long partnership between the two parties, which began in January, was agreed in October 2020 after a competitive tender and builds on an existing partnership that first commenced in 2015 and initially only covered the promotion of the FIM Endurance World Championship.
For the first time since 2017, reformatted versions of the FIM Speedway of Nations and the FIM Speedway World Cup will return to the calendar.
