Mark Casey has been promoted to the role of head of tournament business for golf’s DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour).
The appointment was announced by the European Tour Group (ETG), the parent company of the DP World, Challenge, and Legends Tours, with Casey assuming the role yesterday (April 4).
He will support chief tournament business officer Ben Cowen with a remit including tour scheduling, securing new tournaments, managing relationships with event promoters, and developing aspects of the DP World Tour’s Strategic Alliance arrangements with the PGA Tour, Sunshine Tour, and ISPS Handa PGA Tour of Australasia.
Casey steps up from the position of championship director, which he held for nearly four and a half years. Prior to that, he spent a year working as a consultant for the Tour.
He has also spent nearly 12 years at the Ladies European Tour in the roles of international development director, director of operations, and European Solheim Cup director.
Before moving into golf, Casey worked as an events director for Paragon Event Management, an events director for WSM, and an event manager for Vantage Promotions.

“Latterly, he was instrumental in delivering the plans and logistics that allowed us to continue to operate around the world during the challenging pandemic period. I look forward to working closely with Mark to continue the growth of the DP World Tour alongside our global and Strategic Alliance partners.”
Casey added: “It’s been a pleasure to work on various aspects of the business over the past eight years, and I’m excited to begin this new challenge with the tournament business department.
“I have worked with dedicated teams across the Tour in recent years, particularly during the demanding and complex pandemic period, and I am pleased to be a part of the next chapter as we look to build on the DP World Tour’s global scheduling and develop partnerships around the world.”
