StreamAMG, the UK-based sports streaming and technology services firm owned by PA Media Group, has appointed Paul Hunt as its new managing director.
Hunt takes over from Dan Grey, who has been acting as interim managing director for the last seven months. The firm has said that Grey is set to continue to “support the business” over the next few weeks, before “returning to the start-up sector to pursue other opportunities.”
Before joining StreamAMG, he spent three years as sports business director at the Genius Sports global sports data and technology firm, joining that company in May 2022. Prior to that, he was an executive director at Genius Sports' Second Spectrum subsidiary.
The new StreamAMG MD said: “The business has a fantastic reputation, an incredibly talented team, and a huge opportunity to grow as the demand for high-quality sports streaming continues to accelerate. I am looking forward to working with the team at StreamAMG and PA Media Group to unlock even more value from video content for both existing and new partners.”
His career also involves stints at multiple English soccer clubs, including at current Premier League side Leicester City as commercial director.
Gareth Bramall, PA Media Group’s chief strategy officer, added: “He [Hunt] brings extensive experience, both with sports club and technology providers, a passion for sport, and a clear vision for the business' future success.”
StreamAMG, in the announcement around Hunt’s arrival, pointed to his commercial acumen, management experience, and extensive set of sports rights holder relationships as having set him apart from other candidates for the position.
Currently, the service delivers over 15,000 live events annually, generating over 52,000 hours of content.
