Chelsea, the English Premier League soccer club, has today announced a new global partnership with FPT Corporation, the Vietnam-based technology solutions company.

Through the agreement, the firm will bring its “future-ready technology and industry-leading workforce to advance Chelsea’s digital capabilities.”

The West London side will leverage FPT’s expertise in digital technology, software development, product engineering, and IT service management and closely collaborate with FPT’s team to identify and develop solutions that support the club’s global growth ambitions.

Chelsea and FPT will collaborate to increase the club’s fan engagement in-stadium and across the team’s digital channels.

Todd Kline, president of commercial for Chelsea, said: "As Chelsea FC celebrates its 120th anniversary, we know our future will be shaped not only by our commitment to success on the pitch but by the transformation of our club using technology.

“Vietnam has experienced significant growth in recent years and emerged as a global digital hub. FPT’s expertise in core business systems, data intelligence, and AI makes them the perfect partner to propel Chelsea FC into this new era.”

Mark Scrivens, FPT Software United Kingdom CEO, FPT Corporation, added: “Our unwavering commitment to the UK market drives us to implement cutting-edge innovations, including data analytics and artificial intelligence, that will benefit Chelsea FC, its fans, and the broader community.

“By leveraging these technologies, we aim to enhance on-field performance, deliver a personalized and immersive Chelsea FC experience, and foster a stronger, more connected community off the pitch.”

Earlier this month, Chelsea announced a pre-tax profit of £128.4 million ($165.5 million) in 2023-24 after selling its women's team to another company run by its owners for as much as £198.7 million.

The club published a summary of its accounts for the 12 months up to June 30, 2024, with the profit coming as a contrast to Chelsea’s 2022-23 financials, in which the club’s first year of ownership by Todd Boehly and the Clearlake Capital private equity group resulted in a £90 million pre-tax loss.

The Premier League outfit also recently unveiled events and ticketing company Live Nation as their new sleeve sponsor for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
