TGL, the new tech-infused golf league co-founded by the golf icons Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is now set to be shown across the Middle East and North Africa by Evision.
This latest tie-up, unveiled yesterday, ensures coverage of TGL – that property’s inaugural season is now taking place in Palm Beach, Florida – across markets such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, and Morocco.
The action will be covered on Evision’s GolfLife Channel, launched two years ago, with Evision owned by the e& telecommunications heavyweight.
In total, this means that the remainder of TGL's inaugural season – running through late March – is now available across 130 countries, on six continents.
Other international broadcast partners include pay-TV heavyweight Sky across a range of major European markets (and New Zealand), Canal Plus in France and sub-Saharan Africa, BeIN Sports across Southeast Asia, and Claro in Latin America.
Domestically, meanwhile, broadcast rights are held by ESPN.
The opening TGL round drew in an audience of more than 1 million viewers on ESPN.
In total, TGL features six teams of PGA Tour stars competing in a season-long competition.
TGL was founded by Woods and McIlroy’s TMRW Sports entertainment venture in partnership with the PGA Tour.
Evision, meanwhile, has held rights to US golf’s PGA Tour and Europe’s DP World Tour for the past two years, through a tie-up unveiled in January 2023.
