The Professional Fighters League (PFL), the US-based mixed martial arts (MMA) series, has appointed Scott Aronsky as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
His responsibilities at PFL will include leading all global aspects of finance, including budgeting, planning, operations, accounting, systems, debt, and equity capital.
Based in the US, he will report to PFL chief executive Peter Murray.
Aronsky previously spent almost 10 years at premium experiences company Legends, with the last four years as CFO.
He has extensive experience across sports, entertainment, finance, and professional services, with a focus on transforming organizations and implementing innovative financial strategies.
As CFO at Legends, he was credited with transforming global financial operations, building key finance and accounting organizations, overseeing a minority sale of the business in 2017 to New Mountain Capital and majority sale to Sixth Street Partners in 2021, and directing financial due diligence for the acquisition of ASM Global.
PFL CEO Murray said: “Scott Aronsky is a world-class financial leader whose expertise and vision will be invaluable as we continue to grow the Professional Fighters League on a global scale.
“His proven ability to deliver financial success, oversee complex transactions, and support high-growth organizations aligns perfectly with PFL’s mission to innovate and expand the sport of MMA.”
Aronsky added: “I’m ecstatic to join the Professional Fighters League at such an exciting time in its global expansion. The PFL has established itself as one of the most innovative and fastest-growing sports leagues in the world, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive financial strategy, operational excellence, and long-term growth.
“With a strong leadership team, world-class partners, and a bold vision for the future, the PFL is poised to redefine the landscape of MMA, sports, and entertainment; and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Aronsky is the PFL’s second executive hire this week after announcing Darren Russell as its new international director of marketing digital and content yesterday (February 25).
The PFL has made several appointments in recent months, including Chris Kaiser as head of global productions and content operations, Mark Loewinger as vice president of event marketing, ticket sales, and touring in North America, and Damian Willoughby as head of global partnerships.
