Manchester City, the reigning champions of English soccer’s top-flight Premier League, have unveiled a new partnership with Publicis Sapient, the digital consulting company owned by Publicis Groupe.
Through the agreement, the company will serve as the club’s official digital business transformation partner. Publicis Sapient will support Manchester City’s ongoing digital transformation strategy and help to enhance its digital ecosystem.
Leveraging its fully integrated SPEED – Strategy, Product, Experience, Engineering, and Data & AI – capabilities, Publicis Sapient will work closely with the club to optimize operations and “elevate Manchester City’s digital experience off the pitch.”
As part of the deal, the Publicis Sapient brand will be prominently featured across pitch-side LED advertising at the Etihad (men's) and Joie (women's) home stadiums and across the club’s social media channels.
Roel de Vries, chief operating officer at City Football Group, said: “As a club, we are continuously working to strengthen our digital ecosystem. Through the new partnership, we will benefit from industry-leading software and innovative solutions that further reinforces our position at the forefront of technological advancement in the sport industry.”
Nigel Vaz, Publicis Sapient CEO, added: “We’re proud to partner with Manchester City on this transformative journey, harnessing our SPEED capabilities to deliver innovative, people-first digital experiences. Together, we are building a dynamic and future-ready digital ecosystem that enhances fan engagement and operational excellence.
“This partnership not only drives immediate value but also continues to support Manchester City for sustained success in an increasingly dynamic and digital sports landscape.”
Manchester City, winners of four Premier League titles in a row, could end the year without a trophy for the first time since the 2016-17 season as they currently sit fourth in the table and were recently knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the knockout play-off stage by Real Madrid.
The domestic FA Cup represents the team's last chance of silverware this season.
The club is also in the midst of several separate legal battles with the league itself, including around the Premier League's associated party transaction (APT) rules.
