Motor racing’s top-tier Formula 1 (F1) has announced that Gulf Air, Bahrain's national airline, will retain its long-standing role as title sponsor of the country’s grand prix (GP) after extending its partnership for another three years.
The new deal, running from 2025 to 2027, marks the longest-standing title partnership in the sport, with Gulf Air having held the position for 21 years since the inaugural event in the country in 2004.
Jeffrey Goh, Gulf Air Group chief executive, said: “This collaboration not only reinforces Bahrain’s prominent position on the international motorsport stage but also serves as a powerful catalyst for economic growth, tourism development, and global brand recognition for the Kingdom.”
The event will continue to be named the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, with this year’s race scheduled to take place from April 11 to 13 at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The Bahrain GP has been the first race of the season on six occasions and has acted as the opening race for the last four years.
However, this year it has been scheduled as the fourth race on the 2025 calendar, ensuring there is no clash with the Islamic month of Ramadan.
