The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) body has struck a 12-year deal extension with sportswear giant NIKE, that will see the lengthy relationship between those bodies run through to 2038.
The overall collaboration between the CBF and Nike began in 1996, with the latest deal having been due to expire in 2026. As such, this new tie-up – announced on Friday, December 6 – will get underway in January 2027.
It has been reported that the new contract’s value will be at least $100 million each year, and with royalties – from the sales of merchandise, a new element of the deal – could reach as much as $120 million annually for the CBF.
This is understood to equate to a tripling of the annual deal value – the current CBF-Nike contract is only worth $35 million a year, according to GlobalData Sport valuations.
Nike will continue as the CBF’s outfitter across all men’s and women’s national teams through this agreement, including academy squads, Olympic teams, and sides in both beach football and futsal.
The CBF-Nike relationship is one of the most iconic technical partnerships in world soccer, and since 1996 the men’s team has won one FIFA World Cup and five editions of the Copa America.

Ednaldo Rodrigues, the CBF’s president, has now said: “This is one of the most enduring and successful partnerships in football, and we look forward to continuing to inspire future generations and promote a more inclusive and equitable sport for all Brazilian footballers.”
It has been reported that talks between Nike and the CBF had been taking place throughout 2024, and that talks accelerated following the unveiling of Nike’s deal with Spanish club giants Barcelona.
Other top-tier CBF sponsors include Brazilian bank Itau, Neoenergia, and Guaraná Antarctica.
Doug Bowles, general manager for Latin America at Nike, added: “This extension of our partnership with the CBF proudly marks the beginning of a fourth decade of collaboration, reinforcing our long-term commitment to Brazilian football. We’re thrilled to continue working together to inspire the next generation of athletes across Latin America and around the world.”
In terms of its national soccer team portfolio, it was unveiled in March that Nike will be replacing rival Adidas as kit supplier for the German soccer federation from 2027 onwards.
However, late last month the Portuguese Football Federation announced a long-term deal with Puma, kicking off in January, after 27 years with Nike. The last deal between those parties was signed in October 2017.
