The Formula E all-electric motor racing series has secured a live broadcast deal with Chinese digital giant Tencent for the upcoming season.
The agreement will see the platform cover all 16 races of the Formula E World Championship’s 11th season, starting this Saturday (December 7) in São Paulo.
As well as the live races, coverage of free practice and qualifying will be available from Tencent Sports, Tencent Video, Tencent News, WeChat Channels, and QQ, including the Shanghai double-header race weekend on May 31 and June 1, 2025.
Formula E claims to have more than 100 million fans in China.
Jonathan Salt, vice president of media and business affairs at Formula E, said: “Tencent’s broad digital platform gives our fans in China greater access to our innovative racing series.”
Jeff Han, vice president of Tencent Online Video, added: “The electric vehicle market is currently producing the next generation of transport, with innovation, technology and sustainability at its core.

Formula E has agreed several broadcast deals recently ahead of the start of the new season.
Last week, the series announced a return to free-to-air television in the UK and Ireland with commercial broadcaster ITV picking up the rights.
Meanwhile, coverage will also be available on the LaLiga+ streaming service in Spain via the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned Eurosport channels.
The 16-race Formula E calendar includes new race locations in Miami and Jeddah, a new double-header in Monaco, a double-header in Tokyo, Japan, and the return of Jakarta, Indonesia.
The campaign will mark the first time the new GEN3 EVO race car will be tested in public, with the car supposed to be 30% faster than a current Formula 1 car.
