Major League Soccer (MLS) has set a new regular season attendance record with more than 11 million fans attending this season.

The figure tops 2023’s record of 10.9 million and comes with 16 matches still left to play in the 2024 regular season, which will end on October 19.

This season’s attendance figures mark the third consecutive year that the MLS has drawn more than 10 million regular-season fans but the first season where the 11 million mark has been surpassed in the league’s history.

Additionally, another new regular season record has also been set in the form of the current average attendance of 23,240.

In a statement, the league said: “The arrival of international stars and the work from clubs to create more unique, fan-friendly ticket packages and matchday experiences are among the key drivers of the continued surge of record-breaking attendance across MLS.”

The highest attendance of the season was Inter Miami's match against Sporting Kansas City on April 13, with the 72,610 fans at Arrowhead Stadium being the fourth-largest standalone crowd in MLS history.
