The San Francisco 49ers, of American football’s NFL, have extended their commercial deal with technology and media giants Comcast.
Through a multi-year deal renewal, Comcast’s Xfinity telecommunications division will continue providing services and sponsoring elements of the team’s home venue, Levi’s Stadium. Indeed, it is a founding partner of that venue.
As a new element of the deal, Xfinity has become the new presenting sponsor for Gate A at Levi’s Stadium, and of the accompanying fan plaza.
In addition, the in-stadium high-speed wifi is presented by Xfinity.
Elsewhere in the Comcast empire, the local area station of US broadcaster NBC (owned by Comcast, will continue its coverage of the 49ers.
The extension has been unveiled in the build-up to the start of the 2024 NFL season – the 49ers will open their campaign in Minneapolis against the Minnesota Vikings on September 15. Last campaign, the 49ers made it through to the post-season Super Bowl, before losing at the final hurdle to the Kansas City Chiefs.

By GlobalDataUS clothing company Levi Strauss & Co has been the naming rights partner for the 49ers’ home venue since 2014 and in January an extension until 2043 was announced.
The current deal between the two parties runs through 2034 and is worth $220 million.
Levi’s Stadium replaced Candlestick Park as the 49ers' home in 2014 and has an expanded capacity of about 75,000 for major events.
