TVP, the Polish public-service broadcaster, will continue to show domestic soccer’s top-tier Ekstraklasa for the next three years through an extended sub-licensing deal with pay-TV’s Canal Plus, the league's primary rightsholder.
The new agreement, announced on the eve of the new campaign, covers the 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons.
TVP will show matches free-to-air in one of two regular slots – on Saturday or Sunday at 5:30pm – which often features the most anticipated Ekstraklasa game each weekend.
Coverage for the opening weekend of the new season will begin with the fixture between Lech Poznań and Górnik Zabrze on Sunday (July 21).
Canal Plus retained Ekstraklasa rights for the 2023-24 to 2026-27 cycle through a four-year deal unveiled in October 2022 worth PLN1.3 billion ($330.3 million), or PLN325 million a year.
TVP will return to sub-licensing games throughout the entire Ekstraklasa season after only agreeing a deal with Canal Plus midway through the 2023-24 campaign, covering just 15 games.

By GlobalDataThe two parties had failed to agree fresh terms for several months after their previous sub-licensing tie-up expired at the end of 2022-23.
In addition to linear broadcasting, Ekstraklasa games will be made available live on the TVP mobile app, and its other digital platforms.
The public-service broadcaster will also cover an Ekstraklasa-focused highlights show, in which viewers can see goals and other highlights from all games across the 18-team league.
Tomasz Sygut, general director of TVP, has said: “We are extremely pleased with the terms of the agreement and the continued cooperation with Canal+.
“Ekstraklasa is the essence of Polish football, and Telewizja Polska, as a public broadcaster, is tasked with delivering the most important sports events to a wide audience.”
Through a four-year deal with the Polish Football Association announced last October, TVP also covers the Polish Cup and Polish Super Cup competitions, the women’s top-tier Orlen Ekstraliga, the final of the Orlen Polish Cup, as well as the second and third-tier I Liga and II Liga men’s leagues, until 2027.
